Naples is known for it’s beaches. It’s beaches are why people from all over the world choose to purchase real estate, and to call it home. So, it’s no wonder why people of all ages have been struggling during the quarantine. As a 25 year resident of Naples, it has just been plain odd not being able to walk on the white sandy beach, or settle into my favorite beach chair, along the shore, to read my current book. Naples was created for Beach Lovers.
Well, as of sunrise today, we can all appreciate our beaches again within reason. Collier County Commissioners have voted to allow residents to visit the beach provided we continue to practice social distancing, and do not gather in groups of more than 10 people. We also have been granted the use of our beautiful parks. I, personally, have missed running on the Naples Greenway, along the Gordon River in one of the last unspoiled areas of urban Naples. I am looking forward to getting back out there!
In addition to the beaches opening, restaurants and stores are allowed to open to 25% capacity. 25% is not a lot, so we will most likely be waiting in a few lines. I am hopeful that Naples residents will continue to work together as we slowly rise above this virus – one day at a time.
